Very disappointed in this unit. Recommended to me by my store for bass and great sound for my van but it is less than mediocre. It is even powers my external amp and still the sound is rubbish through the R-S69/65C speakers, it’s as if the unit has no power output. My day car with its factory system is way superior. I can’t recommend this Alpine product or the speakers, gutted that the sound I was after is now completely missing.

Hi Andy,
Sounds like something isn’t set up properly. Those are not entry level speakers, so you really need to drive them with an amplifier. There’s only so much a head unit can do, and those speakers are expecting something with more power than any head unit can deliver. Get an amp!

Wonder what the audio system is in your “day car”. Is that an active system, perhaps? If you want bass, you need a sub. 6x9s are not substitutes for even a small compact subwoofer.

This radio is very average i had a sony cdx-gt700d before this and wanted bluetooth so when to this unit thinking it being alpine and paying reasonable money it would good but the sony was a far better unit sound wise and the remote all worked not like this one talked to alpine dealer in auckland about unit that was a waste time one eyed so very disappointed i would not recommend this unit.
